Two Domestically Built Large Cruise Ships! Adora Flora City Arrives
On March 20, the second domestically built large cruise ship, Adora Flora City, owned by Adora Cruises under China Tourism Group’s Huaxia Cruises, was floated out at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation.
According to The Paper, subsequent work on Adora Flora City will accelerate, including interior outfitting and system commissioning. The vessel is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2026 and will commence international routes from the Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Homeport, dedicated to creating a maritime cultural exploration journey for domestic and international guests that is “more elegant, more technologically advanced, and more distinctly Chinese.”
Adora Flora City measures 341 meters in length, has a gross tonnage of 141,900, and features 2,130 luxury staterooms and suites, accommodating up to 5,232 passengers. The ship is fully equipped with facilities, including 26 distinctive restaurants and bars, a grand theater seating 1,000 guests, a shopping mall, an art gallery, a fitness center, a spa, and a kids’ club, catering to the needs of guests of all ages.

As the sister ship to Adora Magic City, the first domestically built large cruise ship, Adora Flora City features comprehensive upgrades in spatial design, smart technology, and cruise experience. The hull design of Adora Flora City is more slender and elegant, with a central atrium doubled in size. The interior combines Art Nouveau elements with a “floral” design theme running throughout the vessel, presenting a naturally beautiful spatial layout that creates a more relaxed and comfortable vacation atmosphere for guests. Meanwhile, Adora Flora City will be equipped with more advanced smart technology, introducing intelligent interactive features in staterooms and public areas to deliver a “more technologically advanced” vacation experience. In addition, Adora Flora City will integrate more elements of Chinese culture into its dining, entertainment, and service offerings, creating a “more distinctly Chinese” cruise experience.
Adora Cruises stated, “The successful float-out of Adora Flora City marks an important step toward delivery and operation. With the expansion of the fleet, Adora Flora City will provide stronger capacity support for multi-homeport routine operations. Adora Cruises will continue to deepen the innovative ‘cruise plus culture’ model, bringing high-quality cruise vacation experiences to more Chinese consumers.”

Currently, Adora Cruises operates three large cruise ships: Adora Magic City, the first domestically built large cruise ship; the “Art Ship” Adora Mediterranea; and the “Gulangyu Island” vessel under Xingluyuan Cruise. Its route deployment covers East China, South China, North China, and Hong Kong, enabling year-round multi-homeport operations. The second domestically built large cruise ship, Adora Flora City, has now achieved full hull completion and is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2026, offering domestic and international guests a maritime cultural exploration journey that is “more elegant, more technologically advanced, and more distinctly Chinese.”
